My Favourite Story

My favourite story that I have read is called ‘Holes’.

Image result for holes

I love this story because it has an interesting plot that I haven’t read in other books. There aren’t many stories that have the main character digging holes throughout the story. I like how the author uses a family curse to affect the main character and how he makes the story jump backwards in time to tell us how the curse came to be.

Blurb:

In the middle of a dry desert-like lake, lies Camp Green Lake. A place where troublesome boys are sent after doing wrong. They digs holes in the blistering heat to teach them a lesson.

An unlucky boy a called Stanley Yelnats finds himself there and has to learn to work hard or suffer. He has to learn to fit in even though he shouldn’t be there in the first place. However, a old family curse haunts him and continues to play a factor in his life.

Will Stanley break the family curse? Or will Camp Green Lake break him?

(Word count: 98)

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a strong main character in their story and who like a story that leaves them wanting more. 10/10

My trip to Arran

In Scotland there is a Island to the west of Glasgow, near the Mull of Kintyre and in the Firth of Clyde. It is called the Isle of Arran.

See the source imageI first when there when I was a baby and have been going there ever since. My family have been going there for over 100 years.

It takes a 9 hour car journey and a 30 minute ferry to get there.

I have climbed both Drumadoon Point and Goatfell (the largest mountain on the island).

The Legend of Robert the Bruce and the Spider is told to have happened in the King’s Cave on it’s coast and the Island also has lots of golf courses.

It is the perfect place for people who like long walks, golf and a peaceful atmosphere.
